The expected revenue generated by e-commerce by the end of 2019 is estimated at $79 billion dollars, only in Latin American countries. "We see in Panama an opportunity to generate the conversation about Digital Transformation, mainly in SMEs that are the engine of the economy," said Stephania Salazar, commercial director of InterFuerza.
"Advances such as the introduction of electronic invoicing, legislation for small and medium-sized enterprises and the know how in logistics that the country already has open the way that in the coming years, Panama will increase its competitiveness in the field of Ecommerce within the region," added Salazar.
At the event, Panamanian entrepreneur Ytzvan Mastino, co-founder of the tourism platform Triptabletold the perspective of businesses that manage to reinvent themselves thanks to online platforms, and the best practices in ecommerce that they have already used.
While Pablo Sousa, Credicorp Digital Community specialist, stressed the role of banking in providing solutions for payment processing in the e-commerce solution that each business or enterprise chooses. The key is to provide convenient options for customers, such as the ease of paying by card in a few steps, or prevention mechanisms to verify each transaction and avoid fraud.
Panamanian companies today have several platforms at hand to innovate in the way they manage their income and connect with new customers: From the management of internal business processes, to integrations with sites that allow them to show the services they offer in the form of a Virtual Store.
In the case of the Triptable brand, by adding these digital tools to their operation they were able to expand their brand regionally, connecting with tourism entrepreneurs in cities in Colombia, Mexico and Costa Rica.
