Suppliers and creditors are indispensable for the operation of a company engaged in any economic activity, without them we would not be able to operate effectively as we need certain inputs or services that each figure offers.
In this article we will define each figure and their importance within the company.
Suppliers
A supplier is a natural or legal person who offers or provides the company with raw materials for the production of a product. Suppliers in a company are those who are responsible for offering their raw material products or services so that our company can manufacture or provide the products we need.
For example:
A coffee shop that produces coffee-based drinks and sweets will need suppliers to provide them with products to make them, such as ground coffee or coffee beans to provide fresh finished products. Furthermore, a supplier does not necessarily have to provide distribution services, we can say that our supermarkets are a good supplier of raw materials for the production of sweets such as flour, essences for pastries, sauces for sandwiches, sausages, etc. Also, a bakery for fresh bread, a vegetable market for lettuce, onion and tomato, among others.
The importance of suppliers in a company is that they are directly linked to the production of our products, even a close relationship is maintained between the supplier and our company, they are in charge of supplying what we require so that our products continue to be offered in the market.
Creditors
A creditor is a natural or legal person who provides services for the operation of the company. These services are a complement so that our company can operate efficiently. Creditors are alien to the core or purpose of our company, since, as we have mentioned, they are of a complementary nature, that is, they are companies that, in order for them to continue providing their services, we must comply with the obligation acquired with them.
Following the example of the cafeteria, the cafeteria will need: electricity services, water services, telephone and internet services, security services.
What we see here is that they are already incorporated companies and are alien to the inputs and services vital in the production of our products and are a liability on a company's balance sheet.
